"It is hard to believe that making major pond repairs could be enjoyable. However watching Tom Warmerman's quiet competence and professionalism made it so. I had major problems with the waterfall. He shows a genuine enthusiasm for diagnosing and fixing problems, which he has done for a very long time.
He and his wife, Maria spent the entire day working on my pond. The end product worked even better than when it was first built. In fact I wish he had built it originally. His new builds are astonishing. I also intend to use Tom for spring and fall maintenance and cleanup. Koi can make a real mess. I cannot recommend Acorn Ponds & Waterfalls highly enough. Tom founded the company and is its only full time employee. You will have great peace of mind with him on the job!"

"My waterfall had been leaking for 2 years. I had contacted the person who installed it numerous time. He answered the first time and I explained my problem but he didn't come to look at it and didn't answer anymore of my calls. I found Acorn Ponds & Waterfalls on-line and read the positive reviews. I called Tom Warmardam and he was quick to respond to my inquiry regarding repairs needed to my pondless waterfall. He gave me a very detailed description of what they would do to track down my leak. We scheduled an appointment and he asked for pictures of my water feature. He replied to my e-mail stating he received the pictures. He called and e-mailed me several times before the appointment to let me know what date and time they would be here. He certainly didn't ignore me. I appreciated that very much. He and Maria worked on the waterfall and fixed the leaks, more than one! He called a few days after to be sure it was holding water, and again a few weeks later. He takes pride in his work and made some very helpful suggestions to me for the care of waterfall. I would be very comfortable calling him with any questions even if there were no leaks. I highly recommend Acorn Ponds & Waterfalls. They were prompt, efficient and very professional. I felt like they cared about me as the customer and wanted me to be happy with my waterfall. I really am!!!"

"Moved to a new house in June 2018 that had an existing koi pond. Called a local company to clean my pond-price was low and so was the work. After a week, it looked as bad as before. So this year I studied more on proper maintenance which is where Tom and Acorn ponds came in. Not only did they do an outstanding job cleaning my pond but also explained in detail how to maintain the clarity and understanding my koi and their needs. With a few upgrades that were needed, my pond looks great, and I only need to check the filter once a week to 10 days which is a major change from my daily work on the pond. "I hired Tom after interviewing a few companies regarding my existing two-tiered fish pond with waterfall that had become overgrown with algae and a maintenance nightmare. Most companies offered a maintenance program to clean periodically as the solution, but Tom offered a solution that required limited maintenance. While the other solutions would have been less costly they didn't get to the root of the problem and were more of a Band-Aid approach. Tom's Aquascape solution made more sense to me in that it included an ionizer, beneficial bacteria dozer, skimmer and BOG filtration system. I did question the cost of his solution during the process, but now feel I received fair value for the solution he brought to the table. It has been 2 months since he completed his work and I'm very pleased with the results. The ionizer after finding the correct setting and beneficial bacteria dozer has kept 95+% of the algae away. I get the occasional string of algae that is easy enough to rake out and allows me to see and enjoy the beautiful Koi that I have. The skimmer has trapped all the debris that falls into the pond after the last few windy months that would have settled on the bottom. While I am grateful for all that and it has truly allowed me to enjoy my pond again, my favorite thing Tom did was install the BOG filtration system, as it has turned the second tier of my pond into a thing of beauty with the incredible plants he put up there. I know that the filtration system is also helping with the algae problems I had, but I really didn't expect to enjoy the beautiful plants up there that give the whole pond a softer look than just looking at a lot of rocks. I also want to communicate that Tom kept his commitments in regards to the timing of the project and has been available if I have any questions. Even when I don't have questions he has followed up multiple times to make sure everything is going well and to see if I needed anything. All in all, Tom and his guys surpassed my expectations and I would highly recommend working with him and his company."

"I have always dreamed of constructing a pond with colorful fish swimming in the deep end, lily pads on the surface, surrounded with lovely flowers of all kinds, frogs hopping too and fro, butterflies, birds chirping, blossoming bushes, and beautiful rocks, some of which I would be collecting on my journeys to far-away places. Well, my dream came true - I called several pond installers - but once I had Tom of Acorn Ponds come to visit and prepare an outline and price, I had an immediate good feeling that he was the one I would feel comfortable with. And I was so right! While I heard of others complain that the "boss" was hardly ever around, Tom was on the job along with his helpers every time. He was conscientious, thorough, trustworthy, followed through to be sure there were no problems, stopped by often to check on the pond status. He was a professional who treated his helpers with great respect which I admired. My friends who have seen the results are so impressed, not only with the workmanship, but the price! "I had a pond with a waterfall installed in July 2012 by another contractor. By April 2013 it was apparent that a leak had developed, as the water level in the pond was dropping several inches in 12 hours. I contacted the installer, who set up, and then missed, three service appointments. After that, he stopped returning my calls. I called Tom at Acorn. He came out and determined that the waterfall was probably the culprit. He then disassembled the waterfall (a very messy project), found the problem and fixed it. No more leaks. I found Tom to be prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable, and would definitely do business with Acorn again."

"After researching several companies, Tom was one out of three professionals that we received a design and quote from. Because of his past experience, we chose him, also, because of his professionalism but primarily because he seemed to be quite the specialist where other quotes in which we got, certainly did installations but we did not feel they got qualified training. By further investigation we found that Tom actually had proper certification and the previous jobs in which he did, we were very pleased with the referrals in which he received. Tom is very conscientious about his work, was on time, he was a great guy, he stuck to the execution of the project, he was within budget, we extended the project and added on which never caused any confusion or disrupted the timeline, he re-sodded where some damage occurred within the grass which is natural because this was a very large project but we never thought he would go through such a meticulous detail to make sure that there was not a sign that he had even been there. I would highly recommend Tom on any job because not only did he create an extraordinary wonderful waterfall pond and stone patio but the landscaping and the lighting in which we added on we were delighted with and we ended up with our own paradise and we are indeed very grateful. "I am retired and went to live with my son and daughter-in-law. After I sold my house, I missed the homemade pond that I had at my house. My son & daughter-in-law said I could put in a pond as long as it was done professionally. I researched pond builders and settled on Acorn. They seemed the most professional and knew a great deal about ponds. My pond and waterfall were installed in a timely manner. The workers worked quickly, quietly and efficiently. Tom had suggested a different spot than the one we thought of. He made a lot of sense and we built the pond close to my entrance. The workers were done in three days and picked up after themselves and did not leave any messes for us. Acorn was very helpful in suggested where to put the electricity. The entire family is enjoying the pond! The waterfall is very calming. The kids and I have enjoyed stocking and feeding the fish. The grandkids show their friends the pond. The pond has attracted a tiny frog which has stayed with us. Also, birds have come. I especially enjoyed a yellow finch which has come to drink from my feeder and also drank from the waterfalls. I know we will enjoy this pond for many years to come."

"The joy of a pond…In anticipation of our wedding rehearsal dinner in 2012, we extended our patio to include a pond feature in our three-room garden landscaping.
The evening did not disappoint anyone as we and our 30 guests enjoyed the soft sounds of the gentle waterfalls throughout the course of the evening’s festivities. As the sun slipped gently into the sunset, the warm lighting of the pond added a soft glow along with some simple hanging lantern lights strung along the fence so our guests could stay as long as they wished.
Throughout the summer our pond provided a morning sanctuary for the birds and for us. We enjoyed breakfast and sipped coffee while being mesmerized by our fish searching for food and flitting around the pond somewhat akin to watching the flames dancing in the campfire.
When we arrived home in the evening, we would call the young koi to dinner and once again marvel in their playfulness as the gently nibbled on our fingers. Hours would slide by with friends and family enjoying the transformation from summer to fall as the gorgeous oak leaf hydrangea began to turn a rich crimson hue .
The hydrangea have lost their leaves and the fish are dormant in their little cave while the snow gently transforms the landscape and the pond covers with a thin sheet of ice. Our pond never completely closes as the soft bubbling air makes sure the little ones hiding deep within remain with us until spring when perhaps a few new ones will appear. We hope so.
We want to thank Tom Wamerdam of Acorn Landscaping for creating this tranquil and idyllic space for us in our own back yard. He has given us a gift that will last a lifetime."

Maintenance: "Acorn Landscaping comes every spring to clean out the pond and readjust stones or overgrown plants. While doing this, careful attention is paid to the Koi and frogs."
Comments: "Would highly recommend Acorn Landscaping and Tom Warmerdam. Tom is an experienced professional. The project was completed within the time specified and within budget. The work area was always left neat. Tom was easy to talk with to discuss ideas and desires and reach agreement on the outcome. His designs fit your surroundings and are unique to your house. (They are not a "cookie cutter" design.) Tom's knowledge and expertise was, and still is, extremely helpful when a question has arisen. He is prompt to respond. Tom recommended the fish cave and I would highly recommend one to anyone installing a pond. The fish use it all the time and it offers them protection from overhead predators which are frequent in my area. The selection of trees, shrubs, and plantings for the landscaped area provide visual interest & design. They provide food for the birds, and they flower at different times so there is always something blooming and providing visual appeal. The water plants also are very varied and bloom at different times. The water lilies have rooted well and provide many flowers. The pond is now so well established with it's own environment that there is nothing I need to do to maintain it. How much work would be required on my part to maintain the pond and stream had been a concern. The first year took some work, the second a little work, and from then on the pond maintains itself. My pond and stream stay running all year long and the fish survive just fine. I put a heater in one end to make sure there is an opening for air exchange in case the waterfall area totally freezes over. The winter pond gives a different effect and you can still see the water running in the stream under a covering of ice and hear the water in the waterfall.
It's delightful to sit by the pond and watch the fish swimming around and listen to the waterfall."

"Anyone hiring a contractor these days does so with a certain amount of nervousness. There are so many stories of people being unhappy with the outcome or being left in the lurch after most of the investment has been made. I am happy to report that our experience working with Acorn was a pleasure from start to finish.
We were looking for someone who would listen to our rough vision and translate it into something even better. Tom took the time at the beginning to really understand what we wanted and how it could work in our back yard.
Once the work began, Tom and his team turned up every day that they scheduled – and on time every day. Tom was meticulous in preparing the site, so we know it is going to last many, many years.
We couldn’t be happier with the finished garden and landscape design. We just had our first backyard party and the guests all commented that it looked like the stream and waterfall had always been there and that if they had a garden like this, they would want to spend all day sitting outside."

"Acorn Landscaping installed a pondless waterfall, landscaping, and patio in our backyard this July. Our whole family has enjoyed it immensely, including the cat who loves to watch and listen from inside the house. It has also been very popular with friends who have visited. We had a "deck party" about a month after the waterfall was put in, with about 16 people. Before we knew it the entire party had moved off the deck and down to the waterfall area - I'm glad Tom suggested adding a patio to the location!
Tom and his crew worked very efficiently and professionally, and came each day until the job was complete. Our experience with them was a very happy one, and it was so nice not to have the backyard in disarray for weeks. We recommend them highly! I also would like to tell folks that the waterfall has been virtually maintenance-free. We have not had to add water to the tank once; now in the late fall I just have to grab falling leaves out of the falls. It is mid-November and the waterfall is still running as we can't bear to shut it down for the winter."

"Before creating a beautiful, graceful and colorful 50 ft garden in place of the wild area bordering the side of my steep hill, Tom had to determine what had been causing sinkholes to appear and reappear on the hill in spite of professional repairs. He correctly diagnosed a significant underground leak and expertly engineered the repair. Tom has the gift to really hear the desires of the client, then incorporate them into a a magnificent garden palate. I even bought a new camera to better capture the splendor."
